A quiet morning in Rose Hill, Content, St Andrew, descended into tragedy on Tuesday when a suspected domestic dispute ended in the death of a woman and critical injury of her teenage daughter.
The deceased has been identified as Sashana Shaw, whose body was discovered along a riverbed around 10 a.m. after residents responded to distress calls. Reports indicate that community members had to make a dangerous descent down a steep hillside, where they found Shaw’s partially clothed body bearing multiple chop wounds.

Her daughter, who was also attacked, sustained severe head injuries and remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The police have named Ricardo “Crow” McCarthy, who is her ex-boyfriend, as the prime suspect. A manhunt has been launched by the St Andrew North Police Division, which is investigating the case as murder and wounding with intent.

Residents described the incident as shocking and deeply distressing.
“Mi can’t believe this happen inna Content. Rose Hill dark, dark right now. Him shouldn’t do this — him shoulda just leave,” one resident said.
“People did tell him fi move on. The violence never worth it,” another added.
Family members revealed that Shaw had ended the relationship about two weeks before the attack.
“Everybody know ‘bout dem. Him weak long time. A weak man do dem thing ya,” one relative lamented.
