Soldier caught on camera brandishing gun in road rage incident/JBNN

The police have launched an investigation into a road rage incident in St. Andrew during which a firearm was reportedly brandished and a man physically assaulted — an altercation that appears to have occurred in the presence of a police officer.

Reports indicate that the confrontation was preceded by a car chase along sections of Constant Spring Road. A short video, believed to have been recorded by a passenger in another vehicle, has since circulated widely on social media.

Preliminary checks suggest that the individual seen brandishing the firearm is a member of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF). The police have confirmed that they are probing this aspect of the incident as part of their investigation.

The altercation is said to have taken place along Constant Spring Road, near Oakland Apartments, where a grey SUV and a white Toyota Probox were seen stopped on the roadway. It is alleged that the Probox had earlier collided with the SUV and failed to stop, which led to the confrontation.

It remains unclear whether the assaulted party has filed an official report. The St. Andrew North Police have confirmed that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
