A team of officers assigned to the Kingston Western Police Division seized a firearm and several rounds of ammunition during an operation on Johns Road, Craig Town, Kingston 12, on Friday, October 3.
Reports from the Denham Town Police indicate that around 3:00 p.m., law enforcement officers were conducting operations in the area when they discovered a Taurus 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine containing three 9mm rounds of ammunition.
The weapon was found under debris on an open lot, according to police sources.
No arrests were made in connection with the seizure; however, investigations are ongoing as police continue efforts to determine the origin of the firearm and identify those responsible for concealing it.The police have reiterated their commitment to removing illegal firearms and ammunition from communities across the Corporate Area as part of ongoing crime-fighting initiatives.
