The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has confirmed that a police constable died as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision in St. Elizabeth on Saturday.
Reports indicate that the crash occurred about 10:15 a.m. along the Goshen main road in Santa Cruz. The deceased, Constable E. Evans, who was assigned to the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB), was riding a police-issued motorcycle when it collided with a Toyota Coaster bus.
Constable Evans sustained multiple injuries and was taken to the Mandeville Regional Hospital, where he later died.
The bus driver has been identified, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing. The Black River Traffic Department is conducting the probe.
