Police say Lawrence was a top-tier member and main shooter for the Wellys Kelly Gang, which operates out of East Kingston. He was wanted in connection with several serious crimes, including the July 2025 murder of Crown witness Lisa Harris along Bray Street in Kingston 16.

ACP Phipps also confirmed that one of the victims injured in last Tuesday’s shooting has since died. The deceased, Jador Campbell, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. He was among several people—including children—who were shot at the intersection of Charles Street and Text Lane during the attack. No additional fatalities have been reported.
