St. Mary Police Seize Two Firearms, Five Men Arrested in Separate Operations

The St. Mary police have removed two illegal firearms from the streets and taken five men into custody following two separate operations in the parish on Wednesday.

According to reports, around 5:30 p.m., lawmen conducted an operation at a house in Industry Pen, Three Hills. During the search, a Taurus 9mm pistol and nine rounds of ammunition were allegedly discovered wrapped in a scarf and hidden inside a clothes basket.

Later that night, at approximately 10:10 p.m., the driver of a Honda Fit motor car with four male passengers was signaled to stop. A search of the vehicle reportedly led to the recovery of a Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol with a magazine containing eight rounds concealed under the passenger seat. Police also seized an additional ten 9mm rounds in a transparent bag found inside the car.

The five men were arrested in connection with the seizures. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
