An alleged gang member was fatally shot during a police operation in Red Hills, St. Andrew, on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Kevin Rouldson, otherwise called “Bingie,” of a Kingston 11 address. Police say Rouldson was a reputed top-tier member of the Bottom York Avenue Gang.
Reports indicate that officers were conducting an intelligence-led operation in the Golden Acres area when Rouldson allegedly fired upon them. The lawmen returned fire, and Rouldson was hit. He was later pronounced dead.
A 9mm pistol was recovered at the scene.
Investigators say Rouldson was wanted in connection with several murders, shootings, and car theft across the Waltham Park and Cockburn Pen areas.
