A 33-year-old Kingston graphic designer has been arrested and charged after allegedly striking a woman in the face with a gun during an argument and later being found with ballistic vests and other prohibited items.
The accused, Kemar Goffe of Corona Crescent, Kingston 11, has been charged with eight counts of possession of prohibited items, possession of a prohibited weapon, using a firearm to commit a felony, and unlawful wounding.
According to reports from the Half-Way Tree Police, the incident occurred along Molynes Road, Kingston 10, around 7:30 a.m. on Monday, October 6. During an argument, Goffe allegedly used a firearm to hit the woman in her face, inflicting bruises and bleeding wounds. The injured woman subsequently reported the matter to the police, prompting an investigation.
A targeted police operation later led officers to a room occupied by Goffe, where they reportedly found two ballistic vests, one ballistic vest with strike plates, a leg holster, a magazine, and a handcuff holder.
Goffe was apprehended in Portland on Saturday, October 11, and subsequently taken into custody, where he was formally charged.
His court date is yet to be scheduled.
