The West Indies will clash with India in the opening Test of their series in Ahmedabad tonight, starting at 11:30 p.m. Jamaica time.
The regional side enters the contest still reeling from a 3–0 home series defeat to Australia two months ago, and will be without two of their frontline pacers — Alzarri Joseph and Shamar Joseph — both sidelined through injury.
With grass expected on the Ahmedabad pitch, the Windies will look to young fast-bowling star Jayden Seales to make early inroads. Seales has already taken 88 Test wickets at an impressive average of 22.32.
Vice-captain Jomel Warrican acknowledged the challenge of filling the void left by the injured quicks but said the team is prepared to step up to the task.
