Submachine gun recovered in St Andrew South operation

Police assigned to the St Andrew South Division seized a high-powered submachine gun during an early morning operation on Tuesday.

Reports indicate that around 6:10 a.m., detectives from the Hunts Bay Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) carried out a snap operation at an open lot near the Oak Glades Health Centre in Kingston 13.

During the search, the team reportedly found a Mac-11 9mm submachine gun fitted with a magazine containing two live 9mm rounds. The weapon was discovered hidden inside an old refrigerator.

No one was arrested in connection with the find, but investigations are ongoing.
