A post-mortem examination has confirmed that Trelawny Parish Court Judge Ruth Lawrence died from poisoning.
According to sources, the pathologist determined that the 59-year-old jurist’s death resulted from the ingestion of a toxic chemical. Notably, there were no signs of physical violence on her body.
The post-mortem was conducted on October 2, one day after Judge Lawrence reportedly consumed the substance at her home in Coral Springs Village. She was reportedly discovered in distress in the bathroom by her husband, who rushed her to the Falmouth Hospital. She was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Both the Major Investigations Division (MID) and the Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) have launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding her death.
